Hewan’s impressive career includes roles such as Secretary General of Fairtrade Sweden and Chairperson of the Institute for Human Rights’ Council. She has held various leadership positions in both national and international human rights organizations, consistently advocating for democracy, equality, and leadership grounded in positive values.

In her previous roles as Head of Youth and Association Services at Botkyrka Municipality and Operations Manager for Youth Recreation Services at Södertälje Municipality, Hewan has been a steadfast advocate for creating opportunities for young people. Her leadership in projects with corporate partnerships for the Swedish Scout Movement and The H.M King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Foundation for Young Leadership, as well as her role as Chairperson of the Center Against Racism, further highlight her dedication to uplifting youth and fostering equality.

Hewan shares her excitement: “All children have the right to education and well-being, no matter where they are born. Joining Human Practice Foundation allows me to continue advocating for these essential rights on a national and global scale, ensuring that every child has the chance to thrive.”

Our Founder, Pernille Kruse Madsen, on Hewan’s appointment: “We are thrilled to welcome Hewan to the Human Practice Foundation team. Her extensive experience in human rights and youth development aligns perfectly with our mission to provide quality education to children in underprivileged areas. Hewan’s leadership will be instrumental in expanding our impact and driving forward our vision for a better future.”

Human Practice Foundation is dedicated to empowering communities through education. By building and renovating schools, training teachers, and supporting local communities, we ensure that children in underprivileged areas have access to quality education. Since our inception, we have impacted the lives of over 45,000 children in Nepal and Kenya.

We look forward to the positive changes Hewan will bring to our work and the greater impact we can achieve together. Welcome to the team, Hewan!
